The Senior Women's season came to an end today after going down against Torquay in the preliminary final at South Barwon Football Club.

Although the team didn't get the win they are all winners in our eye's!

Hold your heads up ladies, what an incredible season. Go Hawks 💛🤎

U14 Drysdale Little (Div3) vs Anglesea

FINAL SCORES Drysdale 8.5.53 were defeated by Anglesea 9.5.59
Best on PlayHQ: Nothing reported at time of publish

One kick was all that separated them at the final siren for Coach Adam Little and his under 14's Qualifying Final against Anglesea. With a second chance in the bag they'll head to a Preliminary Final against Geelong Amos next weekend.

The boys ventured to Collendina to play Anglesea for a place in the Grand Final. First quarter was a tight tussle with Anglesea up by 7 points at quarter time.
Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse in the 2nd quarter with Anglesea kicking 5 goals to our 1 to lead by 30 points at the half time break.
The coaching staff made a couple of adjustments at half time and the boys had a much better 3rd quarter, kicking 4 goals to their 1 to go into the 3/4 time break 12 points down.
The last quarter was another tight contest with both teams defending well and only one goal a piece being kicked.
Unfortunately our boys ran out of time loosing by 6 points.
Luckily we have a 2nd chance and we get to hopefully make a menz next week against Geelong Amos.

REGULAR ROUNDS

U18's Drysdale Div3 vs Torquay Tigers

FINAL SCORES Drysdale 11.8.74 defeated Torquay Tigers 8.9.57
Best PlayHQ: Seth Binion, Luke Chapman, Lincoln Everett, Sebastion Rizzo, Hamish Labbett, Declan Foley

For Coach Damo the boys are flying home, sitting top of the table, with the last game of the season against another finals contender, St Joseph's this weekend.

This week we ventured down to Torquay in what was a battle for top spot on the ladder. The first quarter Torquay had the aid of the breeze, both teams played some good footy, Torquay was a little inaccurate and lead by 4 points at the first break . The second Quarter again was a great battle, we used the breeze to advantage and kicked 5 goals to 1, going into the main break 20 points ahead.
Torquay again used the breeze and closed the gap to 2 points in a real arm wrestle. Holding a slender lead heading into the last quarter and the aid of the breeze we did enough to hold on, kicking 4 goals to 2 with a final margin of 17 points. With 1 game to go before we enter finals it was a good hard fought victory. Damo.

Reserves vs Modewarre

FINAL SCORES Drysdale 13.15.93 defeated Modewarre 3.3.21
Best on PlayHQ: Charlie Woodford, Nick Moriarty, Taylor Bonner, Darcy Mullen, Quinn Taylor, Jake Hargreaves.

Goal Kickers - Darcy Mullen 5, Jake Hargreaves 3, Aaron McKinnis 2, Rhys Humpage, Lachlan Inglis & Nick Moriarty 1

With next week's game against Ocean Grove locked in, the reserves set about the match getting their systems in play for a big finals campaign. The game started quickly for the Hawks, Hargy kicking the opener, and then Darcy Mullen kicking the next 3, locking in his leading goal kicker for the 2's for the year. With a bit of feeling out there between the 2 teams at quarter time, things calmed down, and the Hawks got their game going, strong centre clearances starting with Mason Davis in the ruck, and some excellent forward entries, setting up the teams 15th win for the year. Was great to have Aaron McKinnis back out there after some time off injured, a specky in the 3rd a highlight!

Senior Men vs Modewarre

FINAL SCORES Drysdale 16.11.107 defeated Modewarre 11.5.71
Best on PlayHQ: Tevan Nofi, Mat Hebbard, Tom Ruggles, James Breust, Jack Jenkins, Jack Preece.

Goal Kickers - Mat Hebbard 8, Billy Beardsell 2, Mitch Clark, Mitch McGuire, Mitch Scott, Ben Ryan, Tom Ruggles and Bailey Sykes 1.

Fair bit on the line in the seniors, a win keeps the boys equal with Torquay, only behind by percentage. Coming up against another finals contender, we got a taste of finals footy early, with the pressure and physicality going up a notch against Modewarre, who kept fighting hard all day long. Tevan Nofi was in superb form across half back, marking every thing that came his way, and with Tom Ruggles and James Breust on top in the middle, we were getting plenty of chances up forward. Those chances were taken and converted in style by Mat Hebbard, 8 goals for the day, taking his season tally to 87, 21 clear of the next best! If Hebby didn't mark it, Clarky & Billy Beardsell did their best to keep things down our end, with some excellent forward pressure and crumbing. From the Coach Ben Carmichael;

Yesterday was a pleasing result. It was a really tough contested game down a Modewarre. The first 3 quarters was a real arm wrestle but to our boys credit, a strong last term seen us come away with a strong win to finish the home and away season. This gives us great confidence leading into out finals campaign.

Both teams now begin the preparation for finals having done enough to secure double chances finishing 2nd. We face Ocean Grove in the 2's, and Barwon Heads in the 1's, down at Portarlington this Saturday!

Thanks to all our helpers and supporters for getting us this far, there are some exciting weeks of footy still to come, and both teams will be doing their upmost to go as far as possible. Hopefully plenty of Brown & Gold in the crowd down at Portarlington next week. See you all at the footy! Go Hawks 💛🤎
