Female Football At Drysdale – the Number One Team on the Bellarine

The Drysdale Footbal Club has a short but proud history as a Girls team 2010

forerunner for female football in the Geelong region,

starting with it’s first team in 2010 competing in the Youth Girls competition.

In 2015 we were one of just 3 clubs in

the first Junior Girls U12 league & in 2017 we were the first

club on the Bellarine to field a Senior Womens Team,

playing in the Ballarat Goldfields league.

In 2018 we have teams in the Senior Women’s, U15’s &

U12 AFL Barwon competitons, & in 2019 we will field

teams in all age groups with the creation of an U18 youth

girls team.

particiption education enjoyment improvement

Our Female Football Program is based on the four key principles of Participation, Education, Enjoyment &

Improvement.

We encourage participation in all age groups by providing a welcoming & inclusive environment for players from all

backgrounds & skill levels.

Our qualified & experienced coaches provide a thorough football education, from the basic skills of kicking, marking &

handball to complex rule interpretations, tactics & game strategies.

First & foremost football should be fun. We strive to make every player’s experience an enjoyable one, where they are

encouraged to have a go, while making great friends & being physically active.

At Drysdale we take great pride in seeing our players constantly develop & improve. Whether your goal is to just get

fitter, have a kick with your mates or one day star in the AFLW we will be there every step of the way to ensure you

can be the best you can be.

“Drysdale footy club is more than a club to me, it’s family. My first year as a Lady Hawk has been filled with new
& exciting opportunities. We have dedicated coaching staff & an enthusiastic group of players who have such
positive attitudes – always looking for ways to improve their skills & have each other’s backs on & off the field. In
addition to this we are fortunate to have trainers & team managers who always give 100% support to all our
players. I am so excited to be part of a club that acts in accordance with their team values of ”United,
Committed, Fun”. I know I will be a Lady Hawk for life”
